I created this blog for a variety of reasons. My old blog had subtly morphed into my work blog because of my need to have another way to market my artwork to prospective clients. It was something that blog was never meant to be, and eventually I realized that I needed an art blog that was less diluted. I have been taking my art career far more seriously lately so I figured it would be good to have a fresh start with this new blog.
I'm also in the process of trying to slowly move away from in-game art such as sprites and UI and more into illustration and concept art work. While I'm very appreciative of what the games industry has given me (and in fact I'm working on a pretty awesome game right now), I realized over the past couple of years that what I really wanted to do is create concept art and illustration, be it for games, movies, miniatures, covers for books (and e-books), or whatever other media. I want this blog to be a chronicle of my move into that field. I also want to challenge myself by putting this blog out there and sharing this exhilarating and frightening process with the rest of the world.
